Going On Vaction With KidsIf you have a family, chances are you may want to plan a family vacation. While you should consider taking your family on vacations that are age appropriate, getting them to behave and keeping them entertained during the trip can be a challenge, especially if your children are young. Many parents wait until their children are at least three years of age before travelling with them. But since many families live apart, taking young children to visit their grandparents and other family members is common. Depending on the age of your kids, you should pack carefully in order to have everything you will need. This includes plenty of clothing, first aid kit, travel snacks, and toys to keep children entertained. If you are traveling with a baby, diapers, towels, and other supplies will also be needed. When traveling by airplane, you should keep these items handy in a travel bag so you can reach these supplies when you need them. In some ways, traveling with a baby is easier than traveling with a toddler or small child because you will not have to keep a baby entertained for long periods of time. Babies tend to sleep off and on during the day, which means you will be able to relax when it is nap time. Toddlers and school age children do not take as many naps and need more stimulation in order to keep them busy. Books, toys, and other items children can play with in the car, or on the airplane are needed so children will remain in their seats and not disturb other passengers. Coloring books can be a lot of fun for children and they are easy to pack. If your child has some travel toys they enjoy playing with, then you should pack them as well. Children over the age of five should be able to understand why they need to stay in their seat and why they should not shout inside a vehicle or airplane. Children under five may have problems, so you will have to remind them along the way. If your child begins to throw a tantrum, try to distract them as much as possible by reading or telling stories, talking to them, or by offering them different toys. Many times, children who are given a little extra attention will usually calm down quickly. If traveling by car, stopping every hour or so at rest stops can help your children be less moody on the trip. If you have a baby, you will need to stop in order to change or feed them. Stopping to stretch or eat is a good way to improve everyone's mood when on a trip. After taking a few trips with your children, you will be better able to handle the demands they may have. Over time, your children will also become better travelers. Your family vacations will improve drastically as your children age, so be patient and try to handle rough times as calmly as possible. About the Author Questions & Answers about Baby Kid TravelWhy do mothers allow kids to travel unrestrained whilst they wear their seatbelts. Does this upset anyone else Every day I see mothers with kids on their laps, or jumping around without proper restraints, and I get really mad! Why do mothers still do this? Are they not aware of what can happen to an unrestrained child in a crash. I was in a crash a couple of years ago, where my friend put the restraint for her baby in the house so that an extra friend could come shopping. I protested, but it was no good. She had nursed her daughter before, and I had talked to her about it, but she still did it. I showed her footage of what can happen, but she still nursed her kid in the car!!! Her daughter died that day when the driver tried to find her cigarettes, and slammed into the back of a car at the lights. I can still see my friend and her baby slamming into the dash and windscreen. My friend survived, her baby didn't. I wish mothers with unrestrained kids knew this, or could speak to my friend so they know what can happen without having to got through it themselves. What do you all think??? That's the height of irresponsibility, and bad judgement. Where can I buy a 8-12 string harp online? I wanted to purchase a lily harp or a baby harp, but I am not having any luck in finding any vendors online. The pages I have found have only 26 strings and up, and I was looking for a smaller harp for travel - I plan on being a camp counselor and I wanted to bring it to play for kids. I currently play the lever harp, and I was looking for a smaller harp that has levers and a nice soundboard. Thanks for any recommendations! I'm pretty sure this site has a few.
