Basically, I tend to take my wife's so-called rejection too quickly. I do not take the rejection well, to the point that I lose control of my temper. I know very well that the actual situation is very trivial and anyone logical observer would find my reaction far too extreme. Just as a salesman must give himself plenty of chances, a spouse must give her partner many chances. For that matter, I have to give myself many chances not to feel rejected so quickly. Otherwise I will never be able to make the "sales". The average number of times a salesman must experience rejection can run into the hundreds, depending on the circumstances. This is before he can win over a sale. If he gives up after 1 or even just 10 unsuccessful approaches, it is just too fast. Similarly, a spouse must give each approach a chance and not take unsuccessful approaches too emotionally. You may not know your spouse's real wants. Or you may not see that she is pre-occupied. Loving and feeling good about yourself is paramount. Think a bit about the many people you have encountered over your own life. Who are the people who left a deep or good impression on you? I bet its the ones who are "good". They could be like Adam, who constantly project positivity to the people around them. Or they could be like the friend who helped you in your dark hour. Have you helped or touched someone lately? Similarly, don't you just want to stay away from the grumpy guys? Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself this question.
