Aio Waterproof Cloth
Alpinestars 360 R Oversuit at RevZilla.com What fabrics are waterproof for the outer layer of an AIO cloth diaper? On a TIGHT budget, so think cheap pls! I am trying to make diapers for my daughter but I cannot seem to find an affordable waterproof cloth for the outer layer. PUL is so expensive and so is the specialized nylon ($18 per yard!). Anybody have a suggestion? Ultrex is waterproof and is around $8.50 per yard. http://www.sewbaby.com/big/diapers_/diapers_4.html You can buy clearance PUL at some places or even just cuts of it instead of by the yard. Diapercuts has clearance PUL for $10 a yard. Not a big selection of prints, but you can hide PUL inside and pick a different outer (that's how I'm making pocket diapers). http://www.diapercuts.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=Clearance You can also try waterproofing your own fabric with sprays. http://www.bergsskishop.com/nikwax/fabric-waterproofing-p4992c2183.html EDIT: My mother-in-law said she's heard of people using shower curtains as the waterproof layer (hidden). http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf69871475.tip.html Fleece is also a good waterproof cover! |
